Various operational tools are deployed to support this approach to safety on a daily basis. A network of nearly 100 “Safety & Environment” correspondents headed by a Group manager relays and coordinates the approach in the subsidiaries. The main coordination actions consist of 12 annual meetings with more than 240 correspondents and managers in attendance. In addition, there are fifteen-minute “Safety & Environment” briefings for logistics staff, monthly newsflashes, field audits and workplace accident assessments. A supply chain division manages the Group's logistics centres, monitors their inventories (stock levels and quality) and optimises their upstream and downstream flows.
