DNFP 2020

2020 DECLARATION OF NON-FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF THE DESCOURS & CABAUD GROUP 30 The means of control: In order to prevent situations that could cause accidents, the company has established a clear structure in recent years through dedicated governance. In addition to operational managers, a Group supervisor responsible for safety and the environment supervises about a hundred Health Safety and the Environment coordinators who relay policy decisions and the defined action plans. Monitoring of any potential new regulations keeps up-to-date the internal framework available on the corporate intranet at all times throughout the Group. Numerous tools are developed and shared here: The Single Document for the Assessment of Professional Risks, the Welcome Handbook, which compiles all the rules and regulations to be respected, back-up material and methodology for the analysis and monitoring of workplace accidents, devices for the coordination and awareness of staff, and self-inspection procedures. Annual meetings are organised in all regions and regroup themainparticipants in safetyandmanagement issues (in 2020, 10 meetings brought together nearly 260 participants). Various training and coordination tools provide back- ups to the safety system: • videos adapted to our environment to raise awareness among managers and logistics teams (loading assistants, gantry crane operators, forklift operators, drivers, etc.) • coordination supports: posters, monthly messages, 15-minute safety sessions • interactive educational tools inviting participants to detect risks in a given environment and to find associated preventive measures • training sessions built in the form of e-learning on different subjects (such as the transportation of hazardous materials, for example) • monthly 15-minute safety sessions for logistics staff. Various different Management Committees for both the Group and its subsidiaries are involved in similar exercises. Key performance indicators: The most commonly distributed measure in terms of safety is expressed by the Rate of Frequency and the Rate of Severity. *The statistical results for 2020 should be analysed with caution, since the impact of the pandemic and lockdown periods caused reductions in certain figures (e.g., the working time spent on company premises) and increases in others (e.g., the effect of long-term absences compared with reduced totals for the numbers of hours worked).
