DNFP 2020

2020 DECLARATION OF NON-FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF THE DESCOURS & CABAUD GROUP 41 Environmental policy The environmental challenges and their effects are multiple and increasingly acute: pollution, climate change, exhaustion of natural resource, water shortages, etc. Sustainable development must make it possible to reconcile environmental requirements and economic development. Each person must and can make their contribution, it is a question of willingness on the part of each individual, each company and each country. The distribution sector to which the Group belongs necessarily leads it to produce direct effects on the environment (the operation of buildings, the transporting of goods) and also indirect effects, which are higher, which explain attitudes concerning the amounts (manufacturers, suppliers). DESCOURS & CABAUD constitutes a link in the distribution chain through the production of commercial offers in relation to end customers and users of products. Over and above operational considerations, choices and promotions proposing more responsible offers are perfectly legitimate. FOUNDING PRINCIPLES To contribute to the sustainable development of DESCOURS & CABAUD, its environmental policy relies on the following foundations: • To reduce the environmental impact of our commercial offer through the choice of products that are more respectful in one or more of their life cycles. • To preserve the environment through appropriate pragmatic action. • To minimise the environmental impact of our operational sites by reducing the consumption of natural resources, whether it be for buildings or for activities. • To involve all stakeholders, suppliers, customers and employees in our search for improvement. NUMEROUS OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES • To ensure accurate monitoring of energy consumption and to ensure responsible use of resources. • To exploit the balances of greenhouse gas emissions in the subsidiaries concerned. • To select a fleet of light vehicles according to their Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and while ensuring regular renovation and the integration of clean vehicles in each vehicle category. • To ensure the renovation of the fleet of heavy vehicles while seeking to integrate the latest standards of euro motorisation. • To systematically introduce the selective sorting of product waste by activity and recycling whenever this is possible. • To comply systematically with local land use plans. • Water consumption: the systematic application of construction and renovation specifications so as to reduce the levels of consumption.
